Prada and Adidas are extending the boundaries of their long-time partnership since the Re-Nylon collaboration. Both brands have now joined forces once again for an enterprising NFT collaboration. The collaboration is said to feature both creator-owned and user-generated art.

The project titled “Adidas for Prada Re-Source” is said to be the first NFT project that features creator-owned art. As a matter of fact, the brands are in collaboration with Zach Lieberman, one of the top digital artists in the country for the project.

The idea behind the project is to marry together participants in design, crypto, and fashion to establish digital artwork on a large scale. The digital artwork created is inspired by the brands’ physical Re-Nylon Collection.

Being a dynamic and interactive initiative, the project allows the community to partake in the large-scale artwork. This will be executed through play, while discovering the transformative benefits of co-creation, web 3.0, NFT, and digital ownership.

The project also promotes new communities to learn from and about fashion, art and so much more. Not just that, participants will also be rewarded for their creation by getting a sales percentage from the artwork auction.

According to Zach Lieberman, the idea of working on a project that will be permanently documented is thrilling and humbling. Zach added that for many artists, working on projects that have permanent impacts is the dream and the collaboration has helped him achieve that.

Zach’s crowning mosaic will be minted as the last NFT in the “Adidas for Prada Re-Source” NFT project. The plan is to sell the mosaic as a one-of-one NFT via an auction on SuperRare, a digital art marketplace. Dividends from the sales of the NFTs will be allocated to community creators and artists. A particular percentage of the proceeds will also go to charities.

Anybody can contribute an image anonymously. Although, the brands have said that the images should encompass something meaningful that depicts what play means to them. Prada and Adidas will choose at random 3,000 individuals to mint their submitted artwork as NFT, free of charge.

To register, users must go through a verification process to enter a waitlist. The waitlist will then give admission to the randomized raffle that will provide an invitation to mint.

Meanwhile, Nike, one of Adidas’ rivals, has been working hard in the background. So far, Nike has filed seven trademark petitions as it gets ready to venture into the metaverse. As part of the petition, Nike aims to produce and sell virtual apparel and branded sneakers.
