OneOf, a prominent NFT platform in the space, has formed a partnership with The Notorious B.I.G estate to launch an NFT collection in tribute to the deceased hip-hop legend. The NFT collection was announced exactly 25 years after the tragic passing of the rapper. The collection hence was dubbed ‘The Notorious B.I.G.- 25th Anniversary’.

The NFT collection sees OneOf, the Green Web3 company celebrate Biggie’s legacy and life in partnership with the legend’s estate. The collection is said to be minted in Tezos, a self-acclaimed highly energy-efficient blockchain network.
According to Biggie’s mother, Voletta Wallace, both the family and the estate are thrilled about the partnership with OneOf. She believes OneOf’s expertise in memorializing her son will give fans the chance to participate in his music and also honor their love of him.
With the NFT being reported to be minted on Tezos, the collection will engrave Biggie’s remarkable impact on pop culture and the music industry on the blockchain. Ultimately, this will allow fans to forever share, celebrate and honor the legend’s legacy. So far, little details are still known of the NFT collection. Its specific attribute and release date are yet to be declared, however, fans can register on OneOf’s website for alerts and updates on the project.
Although one thing is clear — a percentage of the proceeds from the NFT sales will be donated to the Christopher Wallace Memorial Foundation. The Foundation was established by Biggie’s mother the same year her son passed. The primary aim of the foundation is to help facilitate the growth of educational success within the community.

According to the co-founder and COO of OneOf, Josh James, it was the honor to partner with Biggie’s estate on the NFT project. He affirmed that the project is truly a celebration of the life, death, and legacy of the artist.
He added that with NFT technology, Biggie’s influence on the hip-hop culture and music industry will forever be engraved on the blockchain. And for generations to come fans will honor and share his artistry all over the world.
Just last month, Bigge fans were notified of the soon-to-be-launched Biggie’s posthumously released final album to mark 25 years after the album release. This year also marks exactly 25 years Biggie died as he would have been 50 years old this year. On the 9th of March, 1996, Biggie was brutally shot at the age of 24 in Los Angeles.
