It has been continuously proven that legacy never dies. And this time around, the legacy of David Bowie, one of the popular music legends of the twentieth century, is ready to broaden itself. Denis O’Regan, Bowie’s personal photographer, and the Bowie estate are ready to push forward the legacy of David Bowie into the NFTs space.

Starly NFT marketplace is getting ready to launch the David Bowie NFT collection. The collection will feature several footages of the late music icon that was never released to the general public. This will allow fans to exclusively own these footages via NFTs.

The NFT collection was scheduled to be released on the 27th of January at exactly 1 pm GMT. The collection will feature about 12,000 NFTs which are grouped into 4 by 2220 Common cards, 3 by 1000 Rare cards, and 1 by 120 Legendary cards.

To earn any of the cards, fans must buy a ‘Mystery Pack’ which consists of 2 Common cards, 1 Rare card, and a single randomly selected card. The randomly selected card has a 4% chance of being a Legendary card. In total, there are about 3,000 Mystery Packs available for minting with each pack costing about $99.

Buyers and collectors will also get to enjoy additional benefits. For instance, collectors lucky enough to have a card with the “1947” serial number, Bowie’s birth year, will earn extra NFT. The NFT is said to be quite unique and will be airdropped by Melos Studio. That’s not all, collectors and buyers who acquire a Mystery Pack during the initial sale time will get to share a $10,000 prize pool set aside. Not just that, additional NFTs as well as 100 WAVE points will be airdropped to buyers.

The NFT collection will feature a wide range of private and unshared content as well as backstage videos and photos. Recordings of funny and amusing conversations from show rehearsals, monologues, and audio tracks of Bowie himself will also feature in the collection. So if you’re a fan of the legend, get ready to mint some NFTs.

However, this isn’t the first time the iconic music star will have his legacy immortalized using blockchain technology. Artist and playboy Shantell Martin first took the initiative in June 2021 to release a three-piece NFT collection titled Bowie 1976. The collection was based on an interview that the magazine had with the music legend more than 45 years ago.
