Microsoft, the Giant brand that acquired the incredibly famous sandbox game Minecraft has recently updated to Web3. This recent update is all thanks to the developers of the gaming project in the NFT world.
The project is established on a third-party Minecraft server using a Polygon-based overlay that resides in the Ethereum sidechain while providing users with cheap gas fees. The layer is modeled to offer a metaverse-like experience to another 140 million monthly users who play Minecraft.
As regards the blockchain layer of the NFT realm on Minecraft, it will enable players to have access to various web3 features. A good example of these exclusive features includes an online store that accepts WRLD tokens as payments for items purchased for a better Minecraft experience. In addition, it also revamps the game into a world similar to Decentraland.
Users can purchase digital lands with various digit coins and given the project is based on Polygon, the transaction is cheap, fast, and cost-effective. In addition, the NFT worlds also feature individual and personal NFTs as batches.
It is also important to note that several Minecraft software is open source, implying that anyone with the proper technical expertise can create and build on them. Presently, Minecraft lacks a robust economy compared to rival Roblox, with a solid digital marketplace and its native token dubbed Robux. The NFT Worlds layer also offers players a metaverse in-game experience, which got a lot of NFTs and Minecraft fans excited about the project.

According to the project’s documentation, the team didn’t want to reinvent the wheel by building their own unproven game from nothing. Building the game from scratch will also require the team to be creative in terms of the decentralized metaverse and NFT integration for the platform. Embarking on this type of journey will certainly take a lot of time which the team acknowledged that they do not have.
At the time of this writing, NFT Worlds have generated about $90 million in total transaction volume after gifting 10,000 worlds. This is a great achievement considering NFT Worlds only takes profit from secondary sales and royalties. According to NFT Worlds, more than 100 different NFT projects use their NFTs to create and develop worlds in Minecraft. Some of these projects include Neckville, Creepy Creams DAO, and MetaCollar.
At its early stage, NFT Worlds was able to take in 26,000 gaining hours in its first three days after launch. Presently, the NFT Worlds have an actual property of 13ETH ground value.
