A famous NBA player Michael Jordan, along with his son Jeffrey Jordan, founded HEIR Inc, a Solana-based platform with the goal of bridging the gap between die-hard fans and their favorite sportsmen and ushering in a new era of digital culture. Through membership-based access to digital assets and intimate first-person drops, the platform is meant for athletes and other cultural makers to grow, strengthen, and deepen their ties with their followers around the world, according to the HEIR statement.

‘The 6 Rings,’ HEIR’s debut NFT collection, has now been released. Jordan’s illustrious NBA career, during which he won six NBA championships with the Chicago Bulls in the 1990s, inspired the 6 Rings NFTs. Snarling bulls in black, gold, silver, red, and white make up the 6 Rings NFT set. Those who are fortunate enough to obtain 6 Rings NFT are designated as “founding fans.” The ‘founding fans’ will get unique access to the ‘Huddles,’ which are limited-access communities with rare, never-before-seen material and goods. The startup sold 5,005 total Solana NFTs for 2.3 SOL ($221) apiece, a reference to Jordan’s jersey number, via the Magic Eden marketplace. Due to slower-than-expected sales, the business initially planned to sell 10,010 NFTs, but then announced that it would reduce the projected NFT supply by half. The project quickly sold out of its limited supply.

The company has yet to specify which athletes will be included on the Solana-powered site, but the team hinted that NBA legends and current players will be engaged. Players from high school to professionals will be included, according to the official HEIR Discord channel.

Michael’s HEIR is not his first foray into Web3. He recently participated in a $46 million funding round for Metaplex Foundation and invested in Mythical Games, a crypto game developer. “The entire HEIR team is ecstatic about the possibilities for NFTs and Web3 to link fans and athletes,” Jeffrey Jordan told Decrypt. “We believe that Web3 will be the foundation for the next generation of consumer entertainment experiences.” Jeffrey Jordan, Daniel George (Nike, FIFA, Rakuten), and Jeron Smith lead HEIR (Nike, Sony, and the White House Office of Digital Strategy).
